Pathway to Jesus

Don’t wait

Take your first step on the pathway to AN AMAZING LIFE

Who is Jesus? Jesus offers good news of salvation, healing and hope. His invitation is for all people, all nations, all languages, whoever calls on His name. His name itself, Jesus, means ‘God saves.’

He came to bridge the divide between heaven and earth and to make a way for humanity to be restored to God. He gave his life in payment so that anyone can receive forgiveness and redemption.

His character and mission are to do good and to represent His father. He says:

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me. He has chosen me to be His representative to the poor and to preach good news to them. He sent me to tell those who are held captive that they can now be set free and to tell the blind that they can now see. He sent me to liberate those held down by oppression. To proclaim that now is the time; it is the year of the Lord’s favour.” Luke 4:18-19

If you would like to invite Jesus into your life, receive forgiveness and salvation, you can begin by simply talking to God. He is listening (don’t overthink it!).

In the Bible, Romans 10:9 says, “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Beginning an eternal relationship with the Creator is as simple as saying this prayer!

You can pray the prayer below right now, or come along to one of our church services where you will get the opportunity to hear more about Jesus, and pray this very prayer.

Father God in heaven, I come to you today in the name of Jesus.
I admit that I am not right with you and I want to be right with you.
I ask you forgive me of all my sins.
Thank you for sending your son, Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty for those sins.
Thank you that you raised Jesus from the dead.
Today I put my trust in Jesus as my Saviour and Lord.
I give you my life and ask you to transform it, giving me your Holy Spirit to lead me all of my days.
Help me to live for you during the rest of my life here on earth.
Thank you for your unlimited goodness and grace over my life.
In the name of Jesus my Saviour and Lord, I pray.
Amen

If you prayed this prayer, first of all, congratulations! It’s an incredibly exciting decision, and we want to do everything we can to help you understand more about what it looks like for your day-to-day life. However, that is just a first step on your Pathway of Purpose!

We really encourage you to come along to one of our services here at C3 Church Carlingford.  We’ll help you on your journey to be a connected member of our church. We’ve got thriving connect groups, along with countless other events and activities and we’re committed to helping you settle into something that works for you!

Basically, we’re committed to helping you deepen your relationship with Jesus and build relationships in church.

If you prayed that prayer let us know

What you can do by yourself

You have the power to deepen your relationship with Christ through everyday practices. Start with reading the Bible, dedicating time for prayer, and embracing the joy of giving. By incorporating these spiritual disciplines into your daily life, you will experience a deeper, richer faith.

Reading the Bible

Take your faith deeper and dig into the word of God. Want to know who Jesus is and understand what He’s done in your life? Perhaps you’re looking for direction or encouragement?

No matter where you’re at in your journey, reading the Bible is crucial. It’s one of the main ways to get to know Jesus on a personal level and develop a real relationship with Him. This isn’t some old, dusty, irrelevant book. It’s the living word of God which brings fresh life and hope into all our lives. The YouVersion Bible app is a great place to start in reading the Bible!

In addition, our Church has a subscription to RightNow Media, a resource with 1000’s of teaching videos to help you understand more about faith and life in Jesus. Contact us for access.

Prayer

We believe in the power of prayer.

Prayer is a conversation between you and God. Nothing more, nothing less. What a privilege to be able to speak with the Creator of the Universe!

As we listen, we hear His voice and are guided by His Word and His answers.  Prayer is intimate and helps cultivate our relationship with God.

The Bible encourages us to pray continually (1 Thess 5:17), and that when we do, God is near to us (Deut 4:7), and He listens to us (Jer 29:12). We are to pray in faith, believing God is able to do the impossible (Jam 5:15).

In addition to personal prayer, we provide opportunities for corporate prayer at our monthly Prayer Gatherings, held the first Wednesday evening of the month from 8-9 pm, both onsite at the Ministry Centre and online via Zoom.

If you would like someone to pray with you, please contact us.

Financial Giving

We believe that the bible is clear in it’s instruction to bring tithes and offerings to God. Throughout the bible you can see the principle of giving a tenth of your income to God, as a standard act of worship. Not only this, but the bible promises that God will bless all those who obey this principle!  (Mal 3:10)

Practically the tithe goes towards building and maintaining the local church and supporting the work of His ministry.

How we can help you on your journey of faith

We’re here to support you as you embark on your faith journey. We offer courses like Alpha and Come Follow Me, which are designed to help you understand and grow in your newfound faith. Additionally, we provide opportunities for Water Baptism, a meaningful step in publicly declaring your commitment to Christ.

We are dedicated to walking alongside you, offering guidance and encouragement, as you take these early steps in your faith journey.

.

Alpha Course

At Alpha, you can ask anything… seriously!

Alpha is a safe space to ask questions about life, faith and meaning and it’s free!  It’s run both online and onsite, generally in Terms 1 and 4 each year. And it’s available in both English and Farsi!

Water Baptism

Water Baptism is a major step in your life as a Christian. As you are fully immersed in the water, it’s a symbol of your decision to give yourself completely to Christ. Water is known as a symbol for cleansing and when you are water baptised it symbolises Christ cleansing you from all sin.

Water Baptism is a public statement that you are walking away from sin and everything that blocks you from knowing God. You are accepting Jesus Christ to be in charge of your life and choosing to live His way.

We generally hold 2-3 baptism services per year.

Come Follow Me Course

Come Follow Me is a 20-week discipleship course written specifically for new believers in Jesus who have come from a Muslim background. It specifically addresses the cultural differences between Islam and Christianity and can be completed either 1:1 or in a group. The course is generally run in a group setting over Terms 2 and 3 each year.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

When Jesus died for you, He didn’t leave you to struggle through your life alone but He provided you with a helper – the Holy Spirit (John 14:16-17, 15:26, 16:7). At the time of your salvation, you received the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit – not an impersonal force, but One just like Jesus who abides with us all the time. The Holy Spirit is present with us during anything that we face in life. No matter the trial or difficulty, He will walk with us and can help guide us through!

We are called to live a life where we are constantly being transformed to reflect the character of Jesus. We cannot achieve this by our own effort and works and so we desperately need the Holy Spirit so He can work within us.

Being baptised or filled with the Holy Spirit is a further aspect of our journey and occurs so that we are empowered for serving God and fulfilling God’s plan for our life. Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a gift available to all believers, with the normal evidence of speaking in other tongues.

If being baptised of the Holy Spirit sounds like the next step on your Pathway of Purpose, then the best thing to do is talk to your Connect Group leader or a pastor! They can pray for you (it’s that easy!) and help you as you are empowered for ministry by the Holy Spirit. If you’re not sure who to talk to, approach one of our pastors at any of our services and they’ll be more than happy to pray with you!
